Time Since Last Nap: 1:44
Status: Feeling way too damn good
Currently Working On: RPG forums and other dinkery
Things are going swimmingly. I was frustrated earlier with my failure to spend a whole night without sleeping in, but I took precautions tonight and it looks like everything will go along fine.
First off, I got back on the caffeine. My reasoning: I have a massive tolerance to caffeine already, and so it won't affect me that much, also I only drank a can or two of Mountain Dew - enough to give me a pleasant picker-upper but not so much I couldn't sleep. (I had no trouble staying awake nor falling asleep, although waking up was tricky again)
As also, waking up was the hardest part. I'm in a particularly bad situation, because I cannot wake up my parents or grandparents or siblings. So playing a 30-minute nap tape is out, that would definitely get them after me. I could put on headphones, but I shake those off as I sleep. Usually what I do instead is set my cell phone to alarm, then leave it on the pillow, in the pillowcase, etc. This worked fine until I started sleeping through the alarm. I'd wake up with the odd feeling that I'd heard that alarm three hours ago, and when I checked the time... agh.
Anyway, today I vowed not to allow that to happen again. I set the alarm to its damn loudest, added the vibrate part, and used some electrical tape to affix that little beeper to the side of my head, just below the jawline on the sternocletomastoid. (Human Anatomy GO!)
Anyway, to make a short story shorter, I woke up with a buzzing, beeping devil playing "When The Saints Come Marching In" stuck to my head. I got up.
But that's not the good part, folks.
My parents are still convinced that this sleep thing is a crazy waste of time. So I decided I'd spend some of my ample time to kill hauling wood and doing other chores. Well, I hauled wood until there wasn't anything left to haul, and stacked it perfecty straight (I normally used the 'pile it it dries the same anyway' method) in a neat pile next to the woodburner. Brownie points.
I don't expect them to start supporting my sleep, but I suppose if I make breakfast for them enough times, they'll come around. Here's hoping.
(Oh, by the way - today I'm making omelettes for breakfast. Woo!)
